VISION

We aim to be acknowledged by our industry as a standard setter in occupational health and safety management. We will be regarded as an expert in delivering high level health and safety performance across our diverse workforce in all our operational locations.

OBJECTIVES

To meet this commitment our business units will:


  • Develop and implement a systematic approach to health and safety management within the regulatory and other requirements mandated by law in which we operate and in accordance with the appropriate national or international standards
  • Ensure that our health and safety goals and standards are understood and followed at all levels within the Company
  • Ensure health and safety measures and controls are in place to effectively manage identified health and safety risks and hazards at every location where our business is undertaken
  • Set targets and objectives for continuous health and safety improvements
  • Measure, appraise and report on health and security performance
  • Provide appropriate training for all staff to enable them to carry out their work in a safe manner, and that all employee actively promote health and safety awareness
  • Ensure appropriate response procedures are in place and regularly tested to minimize the impact of any incident or emergency situation
  • Hold appropriately empowered line management accountable for health and safety performance
  • Include health and safety competency and performance in the appraisal of all staff and employees
  • Empower all our employees to refrain from actions that they consider a threat to health and safety
  • Engage with our clients, companies we work with, partners or suppliers who endeavor to ensure that their security standards match our own
  • Periodically review the suitability and effectiveness of this policy, our management systems, targets and objectives

RESPONSIBILTY AND IMPLEMENTATION

Responsibility for compliance with this policy lies with the Group Executive Officer, Area Managers, Project Managers and their respective business unit Department Managers. It is also a responsibility of individuals to endeavor to make themselves aware of the possible health and safety risks and to take measures to reduce these risks in line with their working environment. This is described in the Company's Safety Manual and "ZAP" Zero Accident Program. Our business units will implement this policy through their documented business management system and conduct periodic audits and reviews to verify compliance and promote continual improvement.
